Terms & Conditions

1. DRIVER(S)

a) Drivers must be over 25 of age at the time of booking.
b) Must have held a full licence for a minimum of 3 years with driving experience.
c) Licences must be free of driving offences/accidents except for minor speeding/parking offences.
d) The licence MUST be the photo type with paper part. We also require to see a current passport or similar (photo identification) as well as a utility bill dated within the last 3 months.

We reserve the right to cancel any Hire / Rental, if at the commencement of the Hire / Rental the named drivers are invalid and / or not in accordance with entitlements or conditions of Hire / Rental. In circumstance like this McIntee Motorhomes Ltd will retain all monies paid by the Hirer (We strongly recommend that you check your License entitlements and endorsements prior to booking).

Whilst every effort is made by McIntee Motorhomes Ltd to ensure that the Hirer receives the particular vehicle booked, should any unforeseen damage or fault occur or circumstance outwith our control, and it is not possible to have the vehicle ready for the Hirer in a condition expected, then, we reserve the right to offer a like for like or better substitute vehicle, or, to return any payments made by the Hirer and cancel the Hire / Rental if this is deemed necessary.

2. BOOKING / RESERVATION  PROCEDURES

a) A booking deposit of £250 is required at time of reservation, along with a completed McIntee Motorhomes Ltd booking form. This will be deducted from the total hire charge at time of paying balances. This deposit is non refundable in the event of cancellation, if your rental is less than 6-weeks from the date of booking then the full payment will be required at the time of booking.
b) Telephone / Email / Fax  bookings can be made but only held for a period of 5 days, if deposit is not received, then the booking will be cancelled and allowed for re-hire.
c) Your booking confirmation will be sent to you with an invoice in respect of the balance of hire charges, plus insurance security deposit (£800.00). This all must be paid at least 28 days prior to commencement of hire.
d) All cheques should be made payable to McIntee Motorhomes Ltd.

3. INSURANCE

All our vehicles are insured Fully Comprehensive Insurance, for a main named driver, additional drivers can be added at an extra cost.
This is for the vehicle and its equipment only that McIntee Motorhomes Ltd have supplied (per the inventory checklist at offset). Hirers are advised to take out their own Holiday Insurance to which includes personal possessions. There may be insurance surcharges dependant on driving history, minor convictions, and health restrictions. It is the hirers responsibility to provide full and accurate information. In the event of the motor policy being invalidated because of non disclosure of relevant facts then McIntee Motorhomes Ltd., will hold the hirer responsible for all losses, fines and any other eventualities. It is also against the Law to drive a vehicle, knowingly have given false /  incorrect information.
The motorhome is only insured for the hire period, ie collection day & time and return day & time. Driving of the vehicle outwith these periods may result in the driver committing a traffic offence and liable to criminal prosecution under Road Traffic Acts. Furthermore the hirer will be responsible for any accidental damage, injury and consequential after the expiry of the hire period.
The Insurance Security Deposit of £800 is payable prior to the collection of the vehicle. This Deposit will be held against inventory damage and any & every accident in which the hirer was involved.
If the vehicle is returned on time and in a clean and undamaged condition with all components & accessories accounted for the Insurance Security Deposit (£800) will be returned to the hirer within 7 days after the end of the hire period, in the form of a cheque.

4. BREAKDOWNS/ACCIDENTS/INCIDENTS:

a) Every effort is made to ensure that the motorhome is in a safe and roadworthy condition prior to the hire period. We the company will not be held responsible for any hotel or consequential expenses subsequent to a breakdown.
b) We the company will not be responsible for any 3rd party claims or damages in connection with or consequent upon, any breakdown or accident.
c) In the event of a breakdown /accident AA/RAC services are at the disposal of the hirer 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
Instructions for repairs and replacements, at a cost not exceeding £50 may be given by the hirer, who will be reimbursed on submission of a valid VAT receipt explaining the cause. 
d) Approval from us the company must be obtained in respect of ANY repairs even if below £50.
e) If the vehicle is involved in any accident, however minor, full details must be noted on the accident report form provided and we must be informed immediately.
f) The Maximum height of the motorhome is clearly stated. Any overhead damage is the responsibility of the hirer
g) Tyres including punctures are the responsibility of the hirer.
h) The Hirer shall ensure that all forward facing passengers wear seat belts whilst the vehicle is being driven.
i) There are only 2 sets of keys for the motorhome. We the company keep 1 set and you the hirer has the other. It is therefore essential that the keys are kept safe at all times. All costs to replace keys will be the responsibility of the hirer. 
j) All motorhomes carry a £1300 insurance excess (to the hirer). In the event of an accident, the hirer will lose their £800 security deposit plus they will be liable for the additional insurance excess of £500 (total £1300).

5. FUEL, GAS, OIL, WATER, TOILETS:

a) A full tank of fuel will be provided when you collect the motorhome. It is expected that it is returned full – otherwise you will be charged the fuel difference, plus an administration charge of £50.00+VAT.
b) It is the hirers responsibility to check the oil and water levels of the engine on a daily basis.
c) There will be 2 gas cylinders supplied at the start of the hire, at least 1 will be full. We expect to have at least one full when the vehicle is returned otherwise you will be charged £50.00+VAT for replacement. Gas can be purchased at most campsites at reasonable costs.
d) The soil water tank must be completely emptied prior to return to us, otherwise you will be charged £50+VAT for us to clean it.
e) The toilet cartridge must be cleaned out prior to return to us, otherwise you will be charged £50+VAT.

6. SMOKING

Smoking inside the motorhome is strictly prohibited. If anyone does smoke within our vehicles then they will lose their security deposit.

7. DOGS / PETS

Dogs or indeed any pets are strictly prohibited. If anyone does take pets into the motorhome then they will lose their security deposit.

8. COLLECTION & RETURN

Motorhomes are available for collection from 1400 Hours on the first day of hire, and must be returned before 1000 Hours on the last day of hire.

We can, if requested, uplift and drop off from airports or railway stations or your home address, if preferred, at an additional cost to the Hirer.

a) Failure to return the motorhome within the agreed time on the last day of the day of the hire means the vehicle is not insured and renders the hirer to criminal prosecution. Failure to return on time also incurs a penalty of £100 per day or part thereof, together with any other costs incurred.
b) No refunds will be given back if the motorhome is returned early.
c) Upon return of the motorhome a representative of the company will check the vehicle for damage, cleanliness, shortages, fuel, tyres, washroom area,  kitchen/fridge, hired options and any other associated things.

9. CANCELLATIONS

Cancellations must be in writing and are as follows:

More than 42 days before start of hire – loss of initial deposit

28 – 41 days before start of hire - 50% of total hire charge

14 – 27 days before start of hire - 75% of total hire charge

13 days before start of hire or less - 100% total hire charge

HIRERS ARE STRONGLY ADVISED TO TAKE OUT INSURANCE AGAINST ANY UNAVOIDABLE CANCELLATION

10. AVAILABILITY

Whilst every effort is made to ensure that the motorhome reserved is available, however if, due to circumstances beyond McIntee Motorhomes Ltd control, the vehicle is not available we will not be held responsible and all monies paid will be refunded.

McIntee Motorhomes Ltd (The Company) reserve the right to vary the rates and conditions at any time and to cancel or refuse hire to any person without explanation or prior warning.

11. MILEAGE

An allowance of 50 miles per days hire is allowed (150miles for a 3-day Hire (minimum hire period), an allowance of 400 miles per weekly hire and 1000 miles per fortnightly hires, additional days allowances over 2 week hire will be 100 miles per day (inclusive), eg. 16 day hire would be 1200 miles allowance. Any mileage over the set allowances will be charged at 40p per mile plus VAT, we also offer an unlimited mileage package, available to hires of 1-week or more) at an additional cost to you.

12. EXTRAS

We can supply in addition to your hire, bedding packs, barbeque, grocery packs, generator (with a full tank of fuel included), full itinerary on where to go and where to stop and stay over, best lochs for fishing, best restaurants for the best food etc. Just let us know your requirements and we will be happy to cost it for you, remembering – all our vehicles have Sat-Nav, Freeview, Microwave, Flat Screen Television with DVD, Bluetooth Phone Kit, Reversing Camera, Parking Censors, Bike Rack as standard. We are now also able to offer adult and children's bike for hire but we do not offer headgear or any protective clothing. Please enquire for further details of the bikes available.

13. CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS

We accept all Major Credit Cards and Debit Cards, including American Exsress, Master Card, Visa, all of which carry a surcharge of 2.5%.
